Ecole des Ponts ParisTech provides Master and Doctorate level programs in the field of engineering. International students can apply for different types of degree programs :
- The Diplôme d'ingénieur/MSc in engineering is a two-year intensive program combining theroy and practice, an advanced scientific and technical education allied with humanities leading to best entry-level positions in industry, or automatically to PhD studies.
- Masters programs leading to PhD
- Advanced Masters programs leading to senior positions in industry
- PhD program
For students accepted through the international admissions procedure, the engineering degree program is a two-year Masters program leading to the Diplôme d’ingénieur de l’Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées, equivalent to a Master of Science.
Access is restricted to student appointed by their home university as candidates to the dual-degree programme with Ecole des Ponts ParisTech, and to students from ParisTech admissions procedure. Students can apply for one of the 6 departments of studies, according to the domains of cooperation defined in the cooperation agreement between their home university and Ecole des Ponts ParisTech.
École des Ponts ParisTech provides two types of Masters program:
ParisTech Masters programs are taught by the ParisTech engineering schools. They are essentially open to international students holding the equivalent of a four-year Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree, awarded by an internationally recognized higher education establishment. The program lasts between 14 and 18 months.
MASTERS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITIES
The Masters programs conducted in partnership with universities consist of two years: the first year (M1), a common core of subjects studied at the partner universities and a specialization in year two (M2) run jointly by one or more universities, École des Ponts ParisTech and other grandes écoles. These degrees focus primarily on teaching research methods and passing on knowledge. They prepare students for PhD research at Paris-Est University or for entry into the working world.
Each Masters program has its own admission conditions.
EXECUTIVE MASTERS (mastères spécialisés®) and MSc-Master of science®
The Mastères Spécialisés® (Exexutive Masters), and the MSc-Master of Sciencea® are labels awarded by the CGE (Conférence des Grandes Écoles). They provide high-level training secialized in one industry or one job-role. Executive Masters admit students holding a minimum 4-year university degree and first professionnal experience. MSc-Master of Science admit students holding a minimum 4-year university degree.
The PhD program serves the challenges of the ecological and digital transition. Leading to the Diplôme de Docteur de l'Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées, the training program combines an international exposure (two-month outgoing mobility), clise connections with industry and exposure to public action
En 2019, 50 Ecole des Ponts ParisTech thesis have been defended. The School had 250 PhD students enrolled in its research centers, 50% of them were international students.
